6) A Biblioteca Ester Kosovski tem o prazer de comunicar a instalação do CENTRO DE ESTUDOS SOBRE VITIMOLOGIA - CEVIT, com localização em sua sede. A coordenação é da Profª Riva Roitman, e tem como coordenadores adjuntos os vitimólogos Leonardo Allevato, Kenia Maynard e Angelo Vargas. Diversas atividades estão sendo programadas e o Centro também funciona como um local para Estudos e Reflexões Vitimológicas, reunindo grupos de estudo sobre temática vitimológica. Participe. A ultima sexta-feira do mês, é dia de encontro, no horário das 15:00h as 17:00h.

O Centro Cultural, já tem a programação pra as palestras que farão parte do grupo de discussões.

10) A associada e artista plástica Arminda Crystello que promove as Mostras vitimológicas - exposições de pinturas com temas sobre vítimas, está oferecendo aos associados um Curso de Desenho e Pintura, que em 24 horas dividida em 08 encontros e 03 horas, a pessoa consegue desenhar e pintar de uma forma básica. 11) A SBV congratula-se com a incansável luta de uma nova associada da SBV pela saúde em nosso país. Trata-se da Dra. Priscil Elizabeth Perotti Scimidt tradutora e advogada em São Paulo que priorizou estudos e pesquisas em relação à ENDOMETRIOSE, e que foi obrigada a retirar da internet o site www.pharua.adv.br, que formava base de dados EM Direito e Medicina com viés especial de fornecer, também, diretrizes em Educação a Distância, notadamente a portadores de moléstias impeditivas de locomoção. E porque retirou o Site? Decorrente da ação danosa de pessoas inescrupulosas que usavam o seu nome e domínio mencionado em tags pornográficas. Mais um caso de VITIMIXAÇÃO PELA INTERNET.

First Comprehensive Comparative Survey of Victim Rates, Fear of Crime and Subjective Well Being in Europe (EU ICS Research Consortium) The press conference will be held Monday, 5 February. The project has been carried out under the EU's Framework Programme for Research. European policy-makers require a comprehensive and harmonised knowledge base covering crime and victims on which to base policy decisions that will help to improve the safety and quality of life of EU citizens. The victimisation part of this study builds on the methodology and questionnaire of the International Crime Victims Survey (ICVS).

Intergovernmental Expert Group Meeting (IEGM) of the UN Commission on Crime Prevention and Criminal Justice 27-29 November 2006 Aims of the IEGM of the Commission on Crime Prevention and Criminal Justice in Vienna were (a) to design an information-gathering instrument on standards and norms related primarily to victim issues and (b) to study ways and means to promote their use and application. All in all, some 50 people participated. There were delegates from governments such as Algeria, Argentina, Canada, Germany, Iran, Japan, Lebanon, Marocco, Peru, Poland, South Africa, Syria, Tunisia, United Arab Emirates, USA and Venezuela. Then there were representatives of all of the Institutes of the UN Programme Network. Experts at large were from Canada, South Africa, Serbia and the Netherlands. The World Society of Victimology and the International Victimology Institute Tilburg (INTERVICT), Tilburg University. The results of the discussion will be posted on the UNODC webs! ite shortly. INTERVICT and World Society of Victimology succeeded in getting three major ideas incorporated in the final conclusions: (1) A reference to the Draft Convention on Justice and Support for Victims of Crime and Abuse of Power that was formulated by the Expert Group Meeting INTERVICT hosted and organised in December 2005; (2) The idea of 'voluntary peer review' was accepted and included in the conclusions, labeled as 'voluntary peer sharing' (3) Governments are encouraged to seek assistance of NGO's in completing the questionnaire. The report of the IEGM will be submitted to the Commission on Crime Prevention and Criminal Justice at its sixteenth session.

The Human Security Brief 2006 updates the 2005 Human Security Report's conflict trend data and analyzes the findings of two recently released datasets that track trends in changing war terminations and organized violence against civilians. The Brief, published by the Human Security Centre, University of British Columbia, provides insights into political violence, terrorism, genocides and other mass slaughters of civilians.

Supranational Criminology website launch This Netherlands-based website aims to stimulate international and interdisciplinary academic discussion about international crimes such as war crimes, crimes against humanity, torture, genocide and other gross human rights violations that to do not readily fall within the contemporary definitional scope of international crimes. Supranational criminology should include all forms of crime that cause mass human suffering.

UN Handbook on Restorative Justice Programmes (2006) This handbook was prepared by Y. Dandurand and C.T. Griffiths for the United Nations Office on Drugs and Crime (UNODC). It is one of a series of practical tools developed by to support countries in the implementation of the rule of law and the development of criminal justice reform. It introduces the reader to restorative justice programmes and processes.

Institute for the Prevention of Crime (IPC), University of Ottawa IPC seeks to bring together the best scientific knowledge from the most authoritative sources, make it accessible to policy makers, practitioners, universities and the media, and develop the capacity of Canadians to use evidence based crime prevention.

The Victims' Rights Working Group (VRWG) Bulletin is now available in English, French, Russian, Spanish and Arabic. The VRWG is an informal network of non-governmental organisations working to promote the rights and needs of victims at the International Criminal Court.

The new version of VAOnline has been recently launched Victim Assistance Online is a reference, resource and networking center for the international victim assistance community. VAOnline provides a variety of free information and networking services through its website and associated special projects. The redesigned website was recently launched.

Sixteenth session of the UN Commission on Crime Prevention and Criminal Justice (Vienna, 23 - 27 April 2007) The Commission formulates draft resolutions for action by the Economic and Social Council. Watch the Commission website for documents related to this upcoming and all previous Commission sessions.

Social Science Research Network (SSRN) SSRN's objective is to provide worldwide distribution of research to authors and their readers and to facilitate communication among them at the lowest possible cost. SSRN allows authors to upload papers without charge, and any paper an author uploads to SSRN is downloadable for free, worldwide. SSRN also provides free subscriptions to all of the abstracting journals to users in developing countries on request. SSRN allows publishers and other institutions to charge users for downloads, but insists that the price for such papers on SSRN cannot exceed the lowest non-subscriber price for these papers anywhere on the web. The vast majority of downloads of papers from the SSRN eLibrary are free.
